Small plates/portions

Hey, I’m looking for recommendations for places to eat on the strip that serve nice small plates/portions or sharers. I can only eat tiny meals since having surgery and I know how massive the American portions can be. Thank you!

Las Vegas is known for its massive portion sizes, but there are plenty of places on the Strip that offer small plates or smaller portion options, perfect for your needs after surgery. Here are a few spots where you can enjoy delicious, bite-sized dishes or sharable plates without feeling overwhelmed by portion sizes:

  • Jardin at the Encore: This modern, laid-back restaurant offers a variety of small plates and shareable dishes with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients. They have options like small salads, light pastas, and vegetable-focused plates that are perfect for lighter appetites.
  • Tapas at José Andrés' Jaleo: Jaleo offers a variety of Spanish tapas, allowing you to try a variety of flavors in smaller portions. The dishes are perfect for sharing, and you can order as much or as little as you'd like. From classic Spanish ham to flavorful seafood dishes, you'll find plenty of options that won't leave you feeling stuffed.
  • Carson Kitchen: Known for its small plates and innovative American cuisine, Carson Kitchen offers dishes like crispy Brussels sprouts, fried chicken sliders, and avocado toast in manageable portions. It’s a great spot to enjoy a variety of flavors without overindulging.
  • Beauty & Essex: This trendy restaurant offers shareable small plates with a high-end twist, from dumplings to tuna tartare and roasted bone marrow. It's a stylish and fun place where you can enjoy a more refined dining experience without worrying about too large portions.
  • The NoMad Restaurant: Located inside the NoMad Hotel, this upscale eatery offers a variety of small plates that are refined but not overwhelming. The menu includes options like roasted beets, fried chicken, and delicate seafood dishes—all in more reasonable serving sizes.
  • ESTIATORIO MILOS: If you're craving Mediterranean cuisine, Milos offers a great selection of lighter, smaller portions such as grilled octopus, Greek salad, and small appetizers that are perfect for light eating.
  • Vanderpump Cocktail Garden: For something a bit more casual and elegant, Vanderpump offers small plates and appetizers that are perfect for sharing, with plenty of options like tuna tartare, meatballs, and bite-sized salads. This could be a fun stop if you’re looking for a light bite and a good cocktail.
  • Wildfire at The Cosmopolitan: If you're in the mood for Asian-inspired small plates, Wildfire offers dishes like sushi, dumplings, and tempura in smaller portions. It's a great way to try a variety of flavors without overeating.

If you're looking for something even more casual, many of the hotel buffets (like at the Cosmopolitan or The Wynn) offer smaller portion sizes upon request or give you the ability to take smaller portions at each station. That way, you can sample a variety of foods without filling up too quickly.

For a more custom dining experience, don’t hesitate to ask the restaurant if they can accommodate your request for smaller portions—many places are happy to oblige, especially with a special dietary need. Enjoy your meals, and feel free to ask the waitstaff about smaller portions or shareable options!
