Vegas hotel with Littles
Eloping on Vegas after a decade together and bringing our 2 Littles who love a good pool. Trying to narrow down hotel by affordability and cleanness. Have on my radar Mandalay Bay (most expensive), The Flamingo, Luxor, Excalibur. Would appreciate pros & cons. TY
Congratulations on your upcoming elopement! Las Vegas offers a variety of hotel options, especially when you're traveling with kids and looking for a good pool. The hotels you’re considering — Mandalay Bay, The Flamingo, Luxor, and Excalibur — each have their own unique features, so here’s a breakdown to help you decide which might be the best fit for your family.
Here’s a detailed overview of each hotel, including pros and cons:
- Mandalay Bay
- Pros:
- Known for its large, family-friendly pool area, including a wave pool and lazy river, perfect for kids who love water activities.
- Beautiful, upscale property with a relaxing atmosphere and clean, spacious rooms.
- Close to the airport and the southern end of the Strip, making it slightly quieter.
- Cons:
- One of the more expensive options on your list.
- The property is large, so it can be a bit of a walk from the rooms to the pool or restaurants, especially with little ones.
- The Flamingo
- Pros:
- Located in a central spot on the Strip, great for easy access to other attractions.
- The Flamingo has a lovely outdoor pool area with a large pool and a water slide, which kids will love.
- Generally more affordable compared to Mandalay Bay and is known for being family-friendly.
- Cons:
- Some of the rooms are a bit older, so cleanliness and maintenance may vary depending on the room.
- The atmosphere can be a bit more lively, which may not be ideal if you’re looking for a more relaxed experience.
- Luxor
- Pros:
- Themed hotel with a fun, unique experience, especially for kids who might enjoy the Egyptian motif.
- The pool area is decent, although not as expansive as Mandalay Bay’s, but still a nice option.
- Offers a variety of affordable room options.
- Cons:
- The pyramid-shaped structure and layout can feel a bit confusing and may involve long walks to get from one area to another.
- The pool area is more basic and may not have as much for younger children compared to other resorts.
- Excalibur
- Pros:
- Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, with a castle-themed property that kids will enjoy.
- Affordable pricing and often offers great deals for families.
- The pool is decent, and the resort has some kid-friendly entertainment and activities.
- Cons:
- The rooms are more basic, and the property can feel a little outdated in comparison to more modern resorts.
- While the pool is nice, it's not as large or elaborate as those at Mandalay Bay or The Flamingo.
Ultimately, if you're looking for the best pool experience for your kids and don’t mind spending a little more, Mandalay Bay is probably your top choice. The Flamingo offers a great balance of affordability and fun amenities, while Luxor and Excalibur provide family-friendly themes and affordable rates, though they might not have the best pools for kids.
Hope this helps in narrowing down your choices! Enjoy your time in Vegas and your special day!
