We will be staying at night in Pismo or San Luis on 10th April.
I want to do some wine tasting and go to the farmers market. Is it wasy to get a taxi from Pismo or do I need a hotel in San luis?
If so any recommendations for a hotel with separate bedroom for 2 adults and 2 kids?
For your stay in the San Luis Obispo area, you have a couple of options depending on your priorities for convenience, wine tasting, and visiting the farmers market.
Transportation Considerations:
Pismo Beach is a charming coastal town, but taxi and ride-share options (Uber/Lyft) are more limited than in San Luis Obispo city. While you can likely get a ride, availability may be spotty, and wait times can be longer, especially on weekends. If your goal is to attend the San Luis Obispo Farmers Market (typically on Thursday evenings) and visit multiple nearby wineries, staying in San Luis Obispo will be much more convenient and reduce stress.
Hotel Recommendations with Separate Bedroom Options for Families:
Staying in San Luis Obispo allows you to walk or take a very short Uber/Lyft to the farmers market, explore downtown shops, and more easily plan wine tasting excursions without worrying about limited transportation from Pismo. Pismo Beach is better suited if your focus is beach activities rather than wineries or the market.
Overall, if your main goals are the farmers market and wine tasting, I would recommend booking a hotel in San Luis Obispo. If your priority is the beach, then Pismo Beach is fine, but plan in advance for rides to wineries or the market.
