one night family going to soccer

We are coming in May to a soccer game for only 1 day. Me, my husband and 8 yr old. Want a nice place to stay. Please advise.

For a one-night stay in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea with an 8-year-old, you’ll want a comfortable, family-friendly hotel that is close to the soccer game venue and ideally near the beach or with a pool to make the most of your short visit.

Since your time is limited, convenience and ease of check-in/out are key. Here are some solid options:

  • Beachfront or near-beach hotels: Lauderdale-By-The-Sea has several boutique hotels and resorts right on the ocean. These usually offer small pools, direct beach access, and easy family-friendly amenities. Great for relaxing after the game.
  • Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fort Lauderdale Airport South: About a 15-20 minute drive, this hotel offers family suites, complimentary breakfast, and a pool. It's reliable and well-rated for families with kids.
  • Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale/West Side: Known for comfort and family-friendly amenities, including free breakfast and a pool. Easy access to main roads leading to the stadium or soccer venue.

Tips for a one-day stay with a child:

  • Check if your hotel offers early check-in or luggage drop-off so you can go straight to the soccer game if you arrive early.
  • Consider staying at a hotel with a pool if your child wants to unwind after the game.
  • If you want to squeeze in some beach time, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea has a quieter, family-friendly beach compared to central Fort Lauderdale.

Booking in advance is recommended, especially for May weekends, as the area can be busy with events and visitors. Also, verify parking availability if you plan to drive to the soccer venue to avoid last-minute stress.
