Need advice on rooms please - what is ‘plaza level’?
Also which block and floor level(accessible by lift) is best?
We don’t want to struggle with cases up too many stairs but prefer upper floors to get views! Help!!
The Hacienda Hotel in Old Town San Diego has several room categories and floor levels, and understanding them can help you choose a room that balances views, accessibility, and convenience.
Plaza Level:
The “plaza level” refers to the floor that is directly accessible from the central courtyard or hotel plaza. These rooms usually have easy access without needing to use stairs, making them ideal if you have luggage or want to avoid stairs. They may have patios or terraces overlooking the courtyard rather than elevated views.
Upper Floors:
If your goal is better views—such as the Old Town plaza, surrounding historic buildings, or cityscape—upper floors are preferable. However, keep in mind that not all upper floors may be reachable by elevators, so checking which blocks and floors have lift access is important.

Additional Tips:
In summary, for the best combination of views and ease, choose a block with elevator access and a room one or two floors above the plaza level. This will give you pleasant views while avoiding the hassle of carrying cases up many stairs.
