Weather & pools

Is the end of September still pool lounging weather in & around Sonoma?

If so which pool is nicer & scenic - I’m considering

Lodge At Sonoma

Gaige House or

Kenwood Inn & Spa??

Late September in Sonoma County is generally still pleasant for outdoor activities, including lounging by a pool, though temperatures can start to dip compared to the peak summer months. Daytime highs typically range from the mid-70s to low 80s °F (24–28°C), while evenings can be cooler, dropping into the 50s–60s °F (10–18°C). It’s often sunny and dry, making it a comfortable time for poolside relaxation, especially during the day.

Regarding the properties you’re considering, here’s a breakdown of their pools and surroundings:

  • Lodge at Sonoma: Features a central outdoor pool with a classic lodge-style atmosphere. The pool area is intimate and surrounded by gardens and pathways, but the views are more charmingly rustic than panoramic.
  • Gaige House: Offers a heated outdoor pool in a serene courtyard setting. It’s smaller but very private and tranquil, ideal for a quiet, luxurious experience. The landscaping is lush, giving a secluded feel, though there are no sweeping vineyard views from the pool.
  • Kenwood Inn & Spa: Has a pool that is more scenic, set against a backdrop of rolling hills and vineyards. The outdoor area is expansive, providing more of a resort-like atmosphere with pleasant views. This is likely the most “picturesque” pool experience of the three.

In summary, if your primary goal is scenic enjoyment while lounging, Kenwood Inn & Spa would be the top choice. For a quiet, intimate setting, Gaige House is excellent. The Lodge at Sonoma provides a more central, garden-style pool experience that is comfortable but less visually striking.

Be sure to bring a light cover-up or sweater for cooler evenings and check if the pools are heated, especially later in September.
