A friend and I are making a daytrip flying into Burbank to go to the Huntington. We are debating renting a car (hassle for one day) vs how expensive/difficult it might be to just use Uber/Lyft. Any thoughts? Also, how long is it likely to take to get back to Burbank to make a 6:30 PM Flight?
Thanks!
For a day trip from Burbank to the Huntington Library & Gardens in Pasadena, using Uber or Lyft can be a convenient alternative to renting a car, especially if you only need transportation for a single day and don’t want to deal with parking and traffic stress.
Distance and Travel Time
The Huntington Library is about 20 miles from Burbank Airport. Without heavy traffic, the drive typically takes 25–35 minutes. However, traffic in the Los Angeles area can be unpredictable, especially during weekday mornings and afternoons. To ensure you make your 6:30 PM flight, plan extra time for your return trip.

Recommendation
If you want a stress-free day without worrying about parking or returning a rental car, Uber or Lyft is probably your best choice. Make sure to leave the Huntington by 3:30–4:00 PM to comfortably reach Burbank Airport by 4:30–4:45 PM, allowing plenty of time for security and boarding for your 6:30 PM flight.
