Tomorrow route from NH to Portland - last full day of trip

Tomorrow is the last full day of a wonderful two week trip. We are in North Conway NH and are driving to Portland tomorrow. (Our flight home out of Portland is the following day.) Looking for suggestion for scenic route.

We spent the first 10 nights on the coast from Boothbay Harbor to Acadia. Then, we drove to Bethel ME and stayed for one night. After that we drove to White Mountains and have been here for 3 nights. We are fairly all hiked out!

I would like to see the lighthouse near Portland. After that, should we consider driving south on the coast? Choose just one town to spend the afternoon in? Then drive back to Portland for the night? (We have a room at the airport.)
