Need help finding a dinner spot with a short timeframe

My wife and I will have only like a 45min-1hr window of time to eat dinner before a 7pm walking tour that starts at Chippewa Park this Friday night. So kinda need a quick bite place with no wait time. Is there somewhere near either Thomas Square (close to our B&B) or Chippewa Park that we can safely get in and out in under 45min. before meeting up for our tour? PS: Our Saturday itineray planning is much more relaxed and chill and not crazy over-planned like our Friday schedule is.

If you have a tight window for dinner and need to be quick before your walking tour at Chippewa Park, here are some great options near Thomas Square and Chippewa Park that offer fast service, so you can get in and out within 45 minutes:

  • The Collins Quarter: Located not far from Chippewa Park, this casual yet stylish spot serves up Australian-inspired dishes with a Southern twist. Their food comes out quickly, and you can enjoy a quick bite at the bar or a table. Popular for its delicious brunch items and fast service, it's a good choice for a quick and satisfying meal.
  • Zunzi's: A great option if you're looking for something quick, casual, and delicious. Known for its South African-inspired sandwiches and bowls, Zunzi's offers flavorful dishes that are served quickly. It's a walk-up counter and easy to grab and go, making it perfect for your time crunch.
  • Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room: A Savannah institution, Mrs. Wilkes' serves hearty Southern comfort food. While it might have a wait time during peak hours, you can often find seating at the counter for a quicker experience, especially around dinner time. It's a bit of a gamble, but worth considering if you're okay with a slight wait.
  • Leopold’s Ice Cream: If you're looking for something lighter and quicker, Leopold's is a classic 1940s-style soda fountain that's known for its delicious, quick service. You can enjoy a burger, fries, or a quick salad, and of course, some of the best ice cream in the city. It's a fast-paced spot with no long waits.
  • The Green Truck Pub: A short distance from Chippewa Park, this laid-back spot is known for its quick service and tasty burgers, sandwiches, and vegetarian options. If you're in the mood for a casual meal with good local flavor, this is a great place for a quick bite.

Since your time is limited, I recommend calling ahead or checking the restaurant’s wait time if possible to ensure you can get seated quickly. For a speedy meal, Zunzi's and Leopold's are probably the best bets for getting in and out without a wait. You’ll be able to enjoy your meal and still make it to your tour on time. Enjoy your trip!
