The Sun Rises Over the Mountains—Alishan Sunrise

The sunrise emerges from the morning mist, revealing the first light of dawn. The rolling sea of clouds leaves a deep impression on travelers. When you think of Alishan, what image comes to mind first? Among the famous 'Five Wonders of Alishan,' three are related to the sky's changing scenery: sunrise, sunset, and the sea of clouds. These are the most iconic natural landscapes of Alishan, and the classic sights that motivate visitors to wake up early in the morning. To witness the sunrise, visitors can either hike along the Sunrise Trail to Zhushan or take the Zhushan Line train.

However, it's important to note that weather conditions like the plum rain season, heavy rain, or fog can obscure the breathtaking view of the rising sun. So, a bit of luck is needed for this journey. Being able to witness the sunrise at such a high altitude is truly a blessing!
