Ancient Amman

Despite being a sprawling metropolis that mainly grew in the 20th century, Jordan’s capital still holds a number of sites of ancient history.

At the top of the city you will find the impressive citadel with a range of interesting archeological sites, such as the Roman temple of Hercules and the Byzantine palace.
