A four-day, four-night trip to Amsterdam, the Netherlands 🇳🇱
#amsterdam
Accommodation - Mercure Amsterdam North Station
✅ Located less than a minute from Noord Station, take two stops to Amsterdam Centraal, then take the final stop, Zuid Station, and then transfer to the airport via train.
Must-see
✅ Rotterdam + Kinderdijk
For a daytime side trip, take the water bus directly to Kinderdijk to see the windmills. As an open space, there are no closing times. Note that the last water bus to Rotterdam departs from Kinderdijk at 6:30 PM. Even more stunning and beautiful than the windmill village, it's highly recommended for those with time.
✅ Anne Frank House
A must-see! The route is good, and there's an audio guide (no Chinese).
I randomly clicked on the official website the previous Wednesday and bought tickets immediately after seeing them available. A few weeks earlier, they were sold out.
✅ Van Gogh Museum
The route is excellent. I recommend renting the audio guide (affordable, around €4) to gain a deeper understanding of Van Gogh's life.
✅ Zaandam Windmill Village
If you don't have time or want to travel far but still want to see the windmills, this is a good option. It's just a bit more commercialized and not as beautiful as Kinderdijk.
Must-try
✅ Winkel 43 Apple Pie
This is a hidden menu item, not visible on the menu. Fresh, creamy, and not greasy, it costs €6.
✅ Van Stapele Koekmakerij Cookies
Super delicious. They're so special, they only ordered the dark chocolate cookies. There were long lines, which shows how good they are. They're fragrant, fluffy, and not too sweet. They'll put you in a good mood.
✅ The Pankcake Bakery
I recommend the Poffertjes, the Dutch pancakes. They're both sweet and salty.
