This May Day, I took the kids to unlock Anji's hidden gem — Yunshang Grassland 🌿! We stayed at the Squirrel Tribe Hotel in the mountains 🐿️, it’s like a fairy tale treehouse world. The kids could interact with little squirrels, it was truly heartwarming~
📍 Perfect Location: Located within the Yunshang Grassland Scenic Area, super convenient to take the cable car directly up the mountain! About 1.5 hours driving from Hangzhou, around 3 hours from Shanghai~
🏕️ Unique Experiences:
1️⃣ The entire hotel is designed as treehouses, each room has a viewing terrace, and in the morning you open the window to misty mountain views
2️⃣ The petting zoo is right in the hotel, with alpacas, sika deer, and little squirrels roaming around, kids can feed them by hand anytime
3️⃣ The Nordic-style wooden cabins are perfect for photos, especially recommend the family rooms with slides, kids won’t want to stop playing~
🌄 Nearby Activities:
• 5-minute walk to the super long glass walkway at Yunshang Grassland
• 10 minutes to the rainbow grass sledding field, super exciting for kids
• Must visit the cliff swing at sunset, the view is incredibly romantic
🍽️ Dining Tips:
The hotel’s buffet breakfast features Anji specialties, bamboo shoot shumai is super fresh! For dinner, try the mountain free-range chicken pot, remember to reserve a window seat in advance~
💰 Money-saving Tips:
• Off-season (March-April / September-November) room rates are halved
• Booking packages that include scenic area tickets are the best deal
• Squirrel interaction experiences are limited daily, be sure to book upon check-in
⚠️ Notes:
• Big temperature difference in the mountains, remember to bring a jacket
• Family rooms are very popular, book at least 1 month in advance
• If driving, it’s recommended to choose a parking spot with a charging station
