Aomori｜A long-established Japanese confectionery shop founded in Meiji 24

The main store of Ganjingtang is located on the shopping street. I came here near noon on weekdays. There were not many people walking around the shopping street. The store was very quiet. The store was filled with various kinds of Japanese confectionery. Some of them I had seen, but many of them I had never seen.

I turned around and immediately saw Wakaayu (若あゆ)/Wakaayu. I had just read about the production method, production process and historical background of Wakaayu in a book. I must get my first Wakaayu in my life! 🤭

The Wakaayu of Ganjingtang looked quite big. Once I opened the package, the dough similar to egg cake was very fragrant and the color looked delicious. The chubby inside was soft, and the red bean filling was sweet but not greasy. With the soft and glutinous texture of chubby, I finished one in a short while, and then I began to regret buying only one.

I also bought a few other Japanese sweets. The red bean filling was cooked very well, not too sweet, and the red bean paste tasted great, which completely changed my view of Japanese sweets🥰
