Asahikawa JR Station and AEON Mall: Convenient Transportation and Shopping Connected to the JR Station

The first stop of our Hokkaido trip was Asahikawa. We arrived at Asahikawa JR Station in the evening. The station isn't very large, but it is connected to a sizable AEON Mall. Since it was already past dinner time when we arrived, we headed straight to AEON Mall for a simple ramen dinner. In the freezing -5°C weather, the hot ramen warmed us up instantly.

The AEON Mall has a wide variety of shops, including well-known Japanese brands and a large supermarket where you can buy fresh ingredients and local specialties.

After shopping, you can also play in the snow and build snowmen outside. When we visited in January, there were still plenty of Christmas and New Year decorations, adding to the winter atmosphere.
