The Khan's Tent is a must-see in Astana!

The Khan's Tent is a transparent, tent-like entertainment center located in Astana (now Nur-Sultan), the capital of Kazakhstan. Built in a neo-futuristic style, it is a large shopping and entertainment complex that symbolizes Kazakhstan's modern identity and nomadic heritage. The building was inaugurated on December 9, 2006, by Nursultan Nazarbayev, the first president of Kazakhstan. It is the second national project in Astana designed by British architect Norman Foster. The building's tent structure is closely tied to Kazakh history, as tents are a traditional form of nomadic architecture. It has been listed in Forbes Style magazine's list of the world's ten most interesting buildings and is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's tallest tent.
