Visiting the Nubian Village was one of the most colorful and heartwarming experiences I had in Egypt! Nestled along the banks of the Nile near Aswan, this vibrant village is home to the Nubian people—one of Africa’s oldest civilizations with a rich culture, warm hospitality, and fascinating history.
🛶 We arrived by a traditional felucca boat ride down the Nile, which in itself was magical. As we approached, the houses painted in bright blues, oranges, and yellows welcomed us like a rainbow by the river.
✨ The Nubians are known for their unique language (which isn’t written, only spoken), colorful architecture, and traditional crafts. We visited a local home, learned about Nubian customs, tried delicious home-cooked food, and even got to hold a baby crocodile—yes, really!
🧵 Local women showed us their handmade jewelry and textiles, and every smile felt so genuine. This wasn’t just a tour—it felt like a true cultural exchange.
If you're ever in Aswan, don't miss this soulful place. The Nubian Village isn’t just beautiful—it's alive with stories, kindness, and history that stays with you long after you leave.
📸 Tip: Go around golden hour for the best light on the painted walls and the Nile view!
