A Hidden Paradise in Ubud

On our recent trip to Bali, we decided to try a friend-recommended accommodation—the Sant Mandala Hotel located in Sukawati. This resort is about a 20-minute drive from Ubud and is surrounded by great tranquility.

The location of Sant Mandala Hotel is very convenient, and the hotel also offers a free shuttle bus with trips to Ubud at 10 AM, 2 PM, 4 PM, and 9 PM, which made our travel much easier. The overall design of the hotel is very Balinese in style, and the staff are harmonious and friendly like family. Every time the front desk staff called out our names with a smile, it felt especially warm 🌸.

The room I booked was in a quiet corner of the hotel. The room was huge, featuring a unique outdoor bathroom design that made bathing an experience of enjoying nature. The bed in the room was very comfortable and elegant, and the mosquito net design gave a countryside feel. Besides the standard amenities, the room was fully equipped with a mini fridge, coffee machine, and more. I especially loved that every room had a view of lush greenery, making waking up in the morning feel refreshing 🌿.

There are also many great places around the hotel, such as the Sukawati Art Market, Bali Zoo, and Bali Bird Park, all within a short drive. The recommended restaurants enriched our culinary experience. For example, the delicious dishes at Omma Bali and the excellent atmosphere at Warung Tepi Tebing made us reluctant to leave. Considering the hotel’s affordable dining prices, we mostly chose to eat at the hotel. We enjoyed tasty cocktails and amazing main courses 🍤.

Although the experience was very pleasant, there were a few minor drawbacks worth mentioning. The hotel is somewhat remote, so returning at night was a bit inconvenient. Although the shuttle bus service was good, the frequency was limited. If you enjoy nightlife, this might be a factor to consider. Also, next time I will choose a room with a private pool because it was hard to find a lounge chair by the public pool during peak times.

Overall, Sant Mandala Hotel, with its thoughtful service and comfortable environment, gave us an unforgettable Bali trip. We hope to leisurely spend our next holiday here when we return to Bali 🌟.
