Hard Rock Hotel Desaru Coast is a music-inspired resort located at Jalan Pantai 3, Desaru Coast, Johor, Malaysia.  The resort features 365 guest rooms and suites ranging from garden view rooms to luxury suites like Rock Star Suite and Rock Royalty rooms.  It’s part of the Desaru Coast resort area, which includes a long stretch of beach (Desaru Beach), a large adventure waterpark, golf courses (The Els Club), and a waterfront lifestyle village. 

Why It’s Worth Visiting
• The vibe is fun and energetic: rooms have music-themed amenities such as The Sound of Your Stay® (guitar, vinyl, curated playlists), Sleep Like a Rock® beds, streaming music channels and large TVs. 
• Excellent facilities for families & recreation: there’s direct access or very easy walk to Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast, plus an outdoor pool with underwater speakers, kids-club (Roxity Kids Club), spa, multiple bars & restaurants, fitness centre, etc. 
• Location & accessibility are strong advantages: about 1 hour+ drive from Johor Bahru via expressways; from Singapore it’s about ~2 hours by car. The beach is a ~10-minute walk, and the hotel offers good connectivity to nearby attractions in Desaru Coast. 

My Impression
Staying here feels like a getaway that doesn’t ask you to compromise between excitement and rest. The music touches—not just theming but actual sound gear, playlists, live music—add playful texture without going overboard. The rooms are comfortable, stylish, and geared for both families and couples. I especially enjoyed lounging by the pool with its beat-driven ambiance, then stepping down to the waterpark to let go. Evenings at one of the onsite restaurants or bars felt lively but not chaotic. If I had to pick a highlight: catching the sunset over the sea from one of the higher-floor rooms while the resort lights start to glow—it made the stay feel cinematic.
