🌹皇家水上花園:邦芭茵夏宮(Bang Pa-In Palace)

#AugustDestinations2025

If you're in Bangkok and don't just want to spend time in the city shopping and night markets, I highly recommend taking a day trip to Ayutthaya. Besides the well-known historical sites, there's also a truly magical place—Bang Pa-In Royal Palace (พระราชวังบางปะอิน).

Honestly, at first I thought it was just an ordinary royal palace, but once inside I was completely blown away! Unlike the Grand Palace, it's not overly crowded or commercialized. Instead, it's a vast palace complex surrounded by a lake and gardens. Walking through it is so relaxing, it almost feels like you've slowed down.

🌸 Some of the places that impressed me the most
The Thai-style pavilion in the middle of the lake, with its reflection in the water, looks absolutely stunning in any photo. It feels like a postcard scene.

As we walked, we came across small European-style buildings and colorful clock towers, and suddenly felt like we'd been transported to a European manor.

The best part is, these buildings, each with its own distinct style, blend seamlessly within the same complex, creating a unique and alluring experience.

🚗 How to get there?
I chartered a car from Bangkok, and it took about an hour. The fare was reasonable, and splitting it with a friend was a good option. You can also take the train to Ayutthaya and then take a tuk-tuk. If you have more time, a day trip combining Ayutthaya and Bang Pa-In Palace is perfect.

💡 Tips
Because this is a royal palace, dress appropriately. Short shorts or sleeveless tops may obscure your look, so rent a sarong to protect your clothes. It's best to go in the morning when there are fewer people and the sun won't be too strong.
