Daseo is a great spot to unwind, recharge, and enjoy bold Korean flavors with a cheesy twist — an excellent pick for food lovers on a summer break in Penang. It’s a cozy Korean restaurant tucked inside Queensbay Mall. Their cheesy Korean stews and crispy fried chicken were indulgent and satisfying — perfect for sharing after a long day out.

We tried the Kimchi Shimson Stew and Cheese Fried Chicken, both rich in flavor and served hot in generous portions. The vibe was casual but energetic, with K-pop music and cheerful staff adding to the fun.

Some dishes like the seafood stew weren’t as flavorful, but overall, it was a comforting and tasty summer meal. Prices are reasonable for the portion size, though expect a slight wait during peak hours.
