Climb the Great Wall and be a hero

Mutianyu Great Wall is approximately 72 kilometers from central Beijing, a drive of about an hour and a half. We pre-booked our entrance tickets online, which also included tickets for the mountain cable car and the downhill slide. This section of the Great Wall is less crowded than Badaling and is renowned for its seasonal scenery. However, reaching the highest watchtower in this section requires climbing the "Hero's Slope," a steep climb at almost a 45-degree angle. This is quite demanding, as the saying goes, "If you don't climb the Hero's Slope, you're not a true man." Without climbing the Hero's Slope, the trails along the wall are not difficult, offering breathtaking views and plenty of photo spots. There are also plenty of ideal spots for photos. Within the scenic area, there are stalls selling snacks, drinks, and souvenirs. After your visit, enjoy home-style cooking at a nearby farm.
