Stay at Youlan, a slow travel moment hidden deep in the hutongs

Beijing’s autumn always carries a warmth that softens the heart.
The sky is high and the clouds are light, with a gentle cool breeze.
Sunlight filters through the gaps in the trees,
and even the air carries a faint scent of wood and fallen leaves.
On this trip, I found a small corner in the city that holds the spirit of autumn.

It’s tucked away in the old Beijing hutongs, a quiet retreat amid the bustle.
White walls, wooden lattice windows, bamboo shadows swaying,
and a red brick path in front of the door leading deep into greenery.
The moment you step inside, it feels like jumping from the noisy city into an autumn oil painting.

The room is styled with natural wood, every detail gentle and warm.
Sunlight pours in by the window in the morning,
illuminating a freshly brewed cup of tea.
The evening light is soft, like the moonlight itself,
with the scent of wood flowing together with the breeze outside the window.

🌾 My favorite spot is the small courtyard.
Behind the white walls lies a stone path garden,
with a winding gravel path leading to a few warm yellow lamps.
Bamboo and maple trees gently sway, as if whispering with the breeze.
The Youlan at night is especially beautiful—
the courtyard lights come on one by one,
each glowing just perfectly gentle.

Every day here moves slowly.
You can have breakfast basking in the sun in the courtyard;
brew a pot of tea in the afternoon and watch the leaves fall;
take a stroll along the alley at dusk, listening to the wind rustling through the trees.
This place is not just somewhere to stay for a night,
but more like a moment to “live quietly.”
