You CAN’T miss this in Beijing 👀

Just spent an epic day exploring Beijing’s Simatai Great Wall and the nearby water town — trust me, this is not your average Great Wall trip! 🍃🌙 The night views of the ancient wall glowing under the moonlight are totally next-level, and the misty mountain scenery is straight out of a fantasy movie.
Must-See Spots:
1. Simatai Great Wall (Simatai Village, Dongzhuanghe Township, Miyun District, Beijing, open all day): Start your adventure here with jaw-dropping daytime hikes across rugged stone paths and endless mountain views. It’s less crowded than other sections and preserves the wild beauty of the Wall.
2. Great Wall At Simatai (North of Simatai Village, Gubeikou Town, Miyun County, Beijing; 9:00AM-5:00PM admission ends 3:00PM, night visit Oct-Apr 5:30PM-10:00PM admission ends 9:00PM, ¥40): Don’t miss the magical night-time experience where the Wall is illuminated—seriously, grab your camera for shots of fog swirling around old watchtowers under the moon!
Personal Survival Tips:
Bring waterproof shoes! The weather can change fast and the stone can get dangerously slippery, especially if it's cloudy or rainy. Be super careful on mountain trails—they’re steep, sometimes slick, and the fog adds a mysterious (but sometimes challenging) vibe.
Getting Around:
Best hack: Book round-trip bus tickets from downtown Beijing to Gubei Water Town via trip.com. From there, electric shuttles take you straight to the Wall.
Food & Extras:
Try the hearty local noodles at Gubei Water Town after your climb. The village has some cozy tea houses perfect for a sunset break.
Key Destination Quick Tips:
No special visa needed if you’re already in China, but bring cash for tickets, munchies, or quick rides. Check weather updates before heading out—Simatai’s beauty is best when you’re geared up for anything!
