A weekend of gourmet food and nature at Julongbao Restaurant near Zhoukoudian

#0YenTravel2025Autumn

Leaving the hustle and bustle of downtown Beijing, we drove southwest for about an hour and a half.

Near Zhoukoudian in Fangshan District, we came across a place that looked like something straight out of a movie: Beijing Tianyu Villa & Julongbao Restaurant.

🏰 A moment enveloped in exotic atmosphere

Once through the gate, we were greeted by a scene that would never have seemed real in Beijing.

European-style brick architecture, a grassy plaza, a fountain, a stone bridge, the sound of flowing water...

Just strolling through the gardens gives you a slight resort vibe. Inside, the high ceilings, large windows, and soft lighting create a relaxing atmosphere.

👍Local ingredients × the chef's playful spirit

This restaurant's specialty is the exquisite "Private Tang Rainbow Trout," made with rainbow trout raised in the villa's pond.
Fresh fish is placed on a heated stone and a broth made from chicken and fish bones is poured over it. The rising steam and aroma instantly whet your appetite. The presentation is part of the flavor—this is the kind of "experience-based gourmet experience" you'll enjoy.

Other dishes include creative dishes that combine traditional Chinese and Western styles, such as the medicinal "Cucurbit Mushroom Double Shan Lao Mu Ji" and the German-style "Beef Ribs in Secret Sauce."

🏞 Relax and Surround Yourself in Nature After Your Meal

After your meal, be sure to take a stroll through the garden.
As you walk along the paths lined with seasonal flowers, you'll see the Fangshan mountain range in the distance.
If you're bringing kids, let them play in the play zone on the premises. Wine lovers should also enjoy a tasting at the adjacent Julongbao Winery. (Depending on the season, you can even experience grape harvesting!)
