Spain Atlantic Coastal Pilgrimage - Basque Country
The first stop of this walking tour is from Bilbao's most iconic Guggenheim Museum - the 20th century architectural marvel, made of 33,000 thin titanium panels, the J-god shape is really great for taking pictures! 😎 It houses the world's most important modern and contemporary private art, as famous as New York and Venice, art fans must visit!
Also don’t miss the Bilbao Art Gallery, which has a super strong collection that blends traditional and modern art. ✨
Bilbao is still very innovative and the city is futuristic – the Euskalduna Convention Center, the metro station run by design master Norman Foster, the architecture of Shin Isozaki and Pelita, the Calatrava-designed Zubizuri White Bridge, and Philippe Stark’s La Alhóndiga Cultural Center (formerly a wine cellar, a must-visit for hipsters!).
After walking around the new-style attractions, remember to swing back to the old school side - the old town area is super feel! The 700-year-old Seventh Street is surrounded by iconic buildings: the Gothic Cathedral, and the Arriaga Theatre inspired by the Paris Opera. Eat local specialty snacks on the street corner, touch the stone path, and you will think of a movie scene!
🌟 Must-see:
- Guggenheim Art Gallery (Address: Avenida Abandoibarra, 2, 48009 Bilbao, Spain)
- Museum of Fine Arts Bilbao (Address: Museo Plaza, 2, 48009 Bilbao, Spain)
- Zubizuri Bridge, La Alhóndiga Cultural Center, Seventh Street Old Town
🕛 Playing time: Suitable for all year round, September is the chillest, comfortable weather and not many people!
Definitely on the bucket list for 2025! The conflict aesthetic and historical district of Spanish Basque, feel the charm of the fusion of old and new every step of the way ~😍
✈️ Mark it down to experience a pilgrim-style itinerary that blends architecture, art and history!
