A Hidden Sanctuary for Our 15th Anniversary back in year 2023… 📍The Residence Bintan

Tucked away at the far end of The Residence Bintan lies a gem that most guests will never see… “the Sanctuary Villa.” Which you have to book directly with the resort on their website. There’s only one unit in the entire resort, and getting there felt like a little adventure on its own. A buggy brought us as far as it could, and from there, we walked a quiet path surrounded by nature until we reached our private retreat. Exclusively private!

The moment we arrived, we knew this stay was going to be special. Greeted by the beautiful infinity pool was WOW!

We were here to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary, and the resort team truly went the extra mile. The staff surprised us with a room beautifully decorated and the room view was breathtaking. But what really touched our hearts was the DIY anniversary cake they prepared for us. One of the team members was so proud of his handiwork, he couldn’t leave without taking a photo of it himself! (Swipe to see photo hehe) We smiled :) because it was such a sweet and genuine moment.

The Sanctuary Villa itself felt like a world of its own. Completely secluded, quiet, and incredibly romantic. We soaked in every golden hour… from sunrise to sunset, watching the light dance across the water from our villa deck. It was the kind of calm you don’t realise you’re craving until you have it. Now you know you don’t have to go to Maldives for a resort and view like this too! Hahaha 😝

Around the resort, we also discovered little gems that made our stay even more delightful. There’s a rabbit garden where we could feed adorable bunnies (a hit for both kids and adults!), and bicycles were free to use, so we could leisurely explore the grounds at our own pace.

But perhaps the most magical experience of all was waking up early to walk on the sandy seabed during low tide. The water had pulled so far back that we could walk right out into the sea, barefoot on soft sand, with the sun slowly rising behind us. It felt surreal and I spotted crabs too!

From start to finish, our 3d2n time in the Sanctuary Villa was unforgettable. The combination of privacy, nature, thoughtful service, and little surprises made it one of the most memorable anniversaries we’ve ever had.
