I spent five nights in the high-rise building above, Chengdu Global Center. Upstairs is the InterContinentalParadise, a hotel well worth a visit. The hotel is bright, stylish, and comfortable. Downstairs, the mall is convenient for dining and shopping. The most famous is Hengchang Shaofang Sauce and Wine House. There's also Swan Lake nearby, perfect for a leisurely stroll.

Sunrise stroll along the Tianfu River. In a city steeped in pandas and tea, the morning riverside in Lan Kwai Fong is exceptionally tranquil.
