Exploring Famous Temples in Chiang Mai by Car

Chiang Mai is home to numerous temples; both inside and outside the ancient city, there are countless temples to visit. Since there are no public buses in Chiang Mai, the best way to explore is by hiring a car to visit famous temples like Wat Chiang Man, Wat Chedi Luang, and Wat Lok Molee.

Wat Chiang Man is the first royal temple in Chiang Mai. The temple features a stupa surrounded by a group of stone elephants, which are built to the exact size of real elephants, making it a spectacular sight.

Wat Chedi Luang is located in the center of the ancient city of Chiang Mai. Despite being damaged by an earthquake and war, the temple still stands at 60 meters high, making it the tallest temple in Chiang Mai.

Wat Lok Molee is the only temple in Chiang Mai built by a queen. The main hall is designed in black and white, which sets it apart from other temples that are adorned with gold, making it even more unique.
