Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan: The Jewel of Lanna

It is a first-class royal temple, Wora Maha Wihan type, located in Tambon Phra Singh, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province. It was built in 1888 by Phraya Phayu, the fifth king of Chiang Mai of the Mangrai Dynasty, to enshrine the ashes of Phraya Kham Fu, his father. Originally, this temple was called “Wat Li Chiang Phra”.
Wat Phra Singh is a temple of historical and cultural significance in Chiang Mai. It is a place worth visiting and paying homage to. It is home to Phra Singh (Phra Phuttha Sihing), a sacred Buddha image of Chiang Mai and the Lanna Kingdom.

* Ho Trai: It is a hall for storing the Tripitaka. Beautiful Lanna architecture
* Chedi: A round Lanna-style chedi enshrining the ashes of Phraya Kham Fu
* Wall paintings: Inside the Lai Kham temple, there are beautiful wall paintings that tell the story of the life of the Buddha and the way of life of the Lanna people.

* You should not step on the grass or restricted areas.
* You should not use a flash when taking pictures of the wall paintings.
