Gate Expectations vs. Bird Reality : Tha Phae Gate

Status: Attacked by pigeons, outnumbered by tourists, still vibing 🕊️

So there I was… standing in front of the legendary Tha Phae Gate, trying to look deep, cultural, and possibly like I was on the cover of a travel magazine.
But what actually happened was:
1. A stranger threw birdseed 2 feet from me 💀
2. 15 pigeons mistook me for a statue
3. My friend shouted “LOOK CANDID” while I was mid-scream
4. A random tourist offered to take our photo… and ran off with better lighting than our entire group combined 😂
5. The final photo? Me blinking, pigeons mid-flight, and someone photobombing with bubble tea.

And you know what? 10/10 would do it again.
Because in the middle of that ancient gate, the bird chaos, and all the camera clicks… I felt exactly what Chiang Mai is all about: unpredictable, beautiful, and just the right amount of ridiculous.

Pro tip: The pigeons are fearless. The sun is unforgiving. And the photos? Priceless.
