Shimizu Park, Chiba

#cherryblossom25
Shimizu Park in Chiba totally surprised me! I wasn’t expecting such a huge and diverse collection of cherry blossoms — over 2,000 trees and around 50 different varieties. I went during peak bloom and the colors ranged from soft blush pinks to deep rose, with some trees already showering petals like spring confetti. It’s one of the few places where I felt immersed in cherry blossoms without the massive Tokyo crowds. The park itself is very spacious, with areas for BBQs, playgrounds, and even a small adventure course if you're feeling active. I wandered along the riverside paths and stopped at several mini bridges for photos — every angle looked like a postcard. It’s super family-friendly, but I still found quiet spots to relax and just vibe. Pro tip: go early in the day for the best light and least crowds. Shimizu Park definitely earned a spot on my #cherryblossom25 list.
