Located about a two-hour drive from Bangkok, the "Grand Canyon Chonburi" is a hidden gem in eastern Thailand. Once a quarry, this site has been transformed by nature into a stunning canyon. The emerald green pond and steep rock walls create a landscape reminiscent of the Grand Canyon in the United States.
Getting There and Highlights
Situated about a 30-minute drive from Chonburi city and close to Bang Saen Beach, this spot is perfect for a day trip. Parking costs 20 baht per vehicle, and entry is free. There's also a café at the entrance where you can relax and enjoy the view.
Within the grounds, you'll find unique sights such as a railway track cutting through the area and the "Snow Mountain," a formation of white clay-like rocks stacked together. These natural features make for excellent photo opportunities.
Tips and Best Visiting Times
Some areas within the site are unpaved and dusty. During the dry season, midday can get quite hot, so it's recommended to wear a hat, sunglasses, and a mask.
