Address: Anju Town, Tongliang District, Chongqing.
Tickets: Free, open all day.
Walk along the bluestone-paved old streets, with antique houses on both sides. Many ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties are preserved here. You can take photos, enjoy the breeze by the river, or climb the Jade Emperor Tower to overlook the entire ancient town. The ancient town is not very large, and you can visit it in about 2 hours. It is less commercialized and has a strong cultural atmosphere. If you like slow-paced travel and have plenty of time, it is recommended to stay overnight and experience the mornings and evenings in the ancient town. It is said that the ancient town holds traditional activities such as dragon boat races and dragon lantern performances every year. If you have the opportunity, you can come during the corresponding holidays, and it will be much more lively. The ancient town has special snacks, such as Chongchong Cake, Chicken Feet with Dried Tofu, etc. It's worth trying them, but it's recommended to come after you've had a meal, as there aren't many proper restaurants in the ancient town, mainly snacks. After the opening of the Tongbi Line, it is relatively convenient to go to Anju Ancient Town. There are also tourist buses. Once you arrive at the scenic area, you can explore on foot. It is suitable for family outings or short weekend trips. I've wanted to visit Anju Ancient Town for a long time, but I haven't been there because it was too far. Now that the Bitong Line has opened, I can finally go to Anju Ancient Town and experience the Bitong Line. Get off at Bitong West Station, exit from Exit 4, go to Tongliang South Bus Station, and take Bus 302 to Anju Ancient Town. The people in Tongliang are very hospitable and enthusiastically gave us directions. Since it was a working day, there were not many people in the ancient town. We strolled leisurely and ate chicken-shredded tofu pudding, Chongchong Cake, and beef rice noodles in the ancient town. They were all pretty good. It was also very convenient to go back. Anju Ancient Town is still worth a visit. The scenery is very nice! Excellent!
