I was amazed by the 816 Underground Project - it's truly impressive!

As a native of Fuling, visiting the 816 Project Scenic Area was the first thing I did when returning home. Not for any other reason but for that rich sense of history.

I must say that "Discovering 816" is incredibly stunning and absolutely worth bringing children to see. It has great educational value! A perfect way to honor and remember our heroes!

What's even more remarkable is the 816 Project itself! It was China's second nuclear materials industrial base!! After experiencing it firsthand, the feeling is truly beyond words!! This massive project involved over 60,000 workers in 1966. Currently, only portions are open to visitors, requiring climbing up and down dozens of floors and at least 1-1.5 hours to explore. Staff guides are available to provide explanations. Don't worry about nuclear radiation at this site - construction was halted in 1984 before it became operational, so you can visit with peace of mind!

Finally, I recommend adding a day trip to Wuling Mountain Grand Canyon - it's perfect!!
