When you think of Chongqing, what comes to mind first? Perhaps the sizzling Chongqing noodles or the dazzling Hongya Cave at night? This time, I'm focusing on the Jiefangbei area, staying at the FunGee Riverview Hotel (Chongqing Hongyadong Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street). Enjoy the river views, check out the popular night scenes, and discover the must-see spots for Jiefangbei night photography and food lovers. It's definitely the most relaxing way to spend the day in Chongqing! 🌃
🌟Trip Highlights
FunGee Riverview Hotel is located on the banks of the Jialing River, within walking distance of Hongyadong and Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street. The hotel windows offer a breathtaking view of the river at night, and the rooms are fully equipped with smart devices. Ice cream and night porridge are also provided free of charge! As a travel photographer and foodie, this is my dream hotel. Watch the sunset during the day, photograph the night view all night long, and then just a short walk away, try all the authentic Chongqing cuisine!
📷Night Photography Tips
1. Kuixing Tower on the 22nd floor of the hotel is the best vantage point for photographing Hongya Cave and the Jialing River. We recommend arriving around 6-7 PM during dusk, securing a good spot and waiting for the city to gradually light up. The nightscape is magical, with the city lights blending with the river's reflections, creating a cinematic experience no matter how you take your photos!
2. For photography, we recommend using a long-exposure lens and a wide-angle lens. Even a phone tripod can easily produce photos. Don't forget to clean your lens; you can use the cleaning tissues provided in your hotel room.
3. After photographing Hongyadong, walk toward the pedestrian street to capture the vibrant lights of Jiefangbei and the bustling city at night. When capturing the cultural atmosphere, consider taking advantage of the movement of passersby to imbue your photos with a sense of life.
🍲Foodie Tips
Living near Jiefangbei is a true foodie paradise. The hotel already provides Chongqing noodles for breakfast (I highly recommend trying them; they're spicy, fragrant, and chewy), but there's much more nearby to try:
- Hongyadong Snack Street: Enjoy authentic skewers, tofu pudding, and Chongqing hot and sour noodles, perfect for a satisfying evening. - Jiefangbei Food Street: Lao Ma Won Shou, Lard Rice, Hot and Sour Noodles, Chen Ma Hua (Fried Duck Neck)—all authentic street food!
- Jiujie Duck Neck: Perfect for a late-night snack, right near the hotel, enjoy a leisurely meal and conversation.
🏨Must-See Hotel Experience
FunGee Riverview Hotel (21st Floor, Building C, Goldman Sachs Chuangfu Center, 113 Binjiang Road) features smart amenities, voice-controlled lighting and air conditioning, and a complimentary mini-fridge. Rooms overlook the Jialing River and the city's vibrant neon lights, creating a truly atmospheric atmosphere. The complimentary nighttime porridge, popcorn, and ice cream are a nice touch, and you can enjoy free laundry and drying services during your stay, perfect for long-distance travelers. Breakfast is open until 1 PM, so you can sleep in without missing out on the noodles—a great option for late risers like me.
Tip: If you're sensitive to soundproofing, request a quiet room on a higher floor at the front desk. Also, check the room specifications before check-in to avoid disappointment from the promotional photos.
Getting There
The hotel is located right on Binjiang Road, within walking distance of Hongyadong, Jiefangbei, and the subway station. A taxi from the airport takes about 40 minutes. Metro Lines 3 and 1 provide convenient access to most of the city's attractions, making it a great choice for independent travelers.
Food Recommendations: Be sure to try the Chongqing noodles for breakfast; in the evening, enjoy a bowl of tofu pudding and chuanchuanxiang at Hongyadong Snack Street. For a late-night snack, don't miss Jiujie Duck Neck, a great value and local flavor.
