During a trip to Fukuoka,
I was wandering around the Tenjin area when I spotted a cute izakaya with a noren curtain!
I decided to check it out! ☺️
It's conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from Nishitetsu Tenjin Station. ✨
Their signature dish is their garlic-free "homemade hand-wrapped gyoza" 🥟
A chinchiro-style "Omihai" There are also some charming items,
and the doorbells are modeled after the "bell ropes" found at shrines.
It's fun and playful! 🥰
The staff are very friendly,
and the atmosphere is lively and fun. 🙌

"Omihai" "The size of your drink changes depending on the fortune you draw.
If you draw a super lucky fortune, you get a free mega size! 🙌
It's twice the size of the regular size, so it's exciting! 🎶
If you draw a bad fortune, you're forced to get the mega size (at your own expense). 🤣
Everyone can enjoy it and have a great time, guaranteed! 👍
The standard gyoza is a small, bite-sized gyoza, a staple of Hakata.
The skin is crispy and the inside is juicy. 🤤
It's not heavy, so you can eat as many as you want. 😋
It doesn't contain garlic, so... You can eat it without worrying about the next day! 🙆♀️
This is especially great for women! 🥰
The "Italian Gyoza" is a rare Western-style gyoza,
filled with meat sauce and cheese. ♡
This is especially recommended for women.
︎The "Tonkotsu Soup Gyoza" is surprisingly light,
and I could eat it like soup.
The "Unzen Ham, Egg, and Potato Salad" is filling,
and the soft-cooked egg is just right. 👍
The waitress at the restaurant also recommended it. 🥰
Meat! Their mapo tofu is as authentic as any you'd find at a specialty restaurant, and the tender meat is absolutely delicious! It's quite spicy, but the sweet and sour flavors are perfectly balanced. It's my personal favorite!
Other dishes include classic Chinese dishes like "Nira Tama" (Chinese chive and egg) and "Ebimayo" (shrimp with mayonnaise), as well as Hakata specialties like "Hakata Sesame Mede Tai" (sea bream with sesame). It's perfect for dinner or as a finale to a night of drinking.
