Want to hike the Dolomites on a budget? A good way is to stay at Refugios, which are located at key landmarks along many hikes or along long-distance trekking routes. If you book them in advance, they can be as cheap as 30 EUR a night. Water is free for guests and affordable meals are provided. The hikes themselves are fairly affordable, with bus tickets generally under 3 EUR per trip. Hikes are often accessible by foot as well, depending on your start point. Trails are well signposted and so a guide is not needed. A good activity for those with low holiday budgets!
