Dali Yiyun Hotel | Nestled Between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake

First Day in Yunnan:
Staying at Yiyun Hotel booked by "Mōdǎo" (a nickname I gave my travel buddy), the hotel is located on the Cangshan Mountain side. Compared to the homestays around Erhai Lake, Cangshan offers much more tranquility. If you're looking for an "escape from the hustle and bustle" experience—a place where you can embrace nature while immersing yourself in local culture—Dali Yiyun Hotel is an excellent choice. Like a humble hermit, it quietly resides at the foot of Cangshan Mountain. Here, time seems to slow down, and footsteps no longer feel rushed.

Just across the street is the neighbor, the serene and beautiful Chongsheng Temple with its Three Pagodas, perched on the slopes of Cangshan Mountain.

🌿 Walking through the hotel grounds feels like stepping into a traditional landscape painting. The blue-tiled roofs, white walls, and upturned eaves blend the elegance of Bai ethnic architecture with the grandeur of Cangshan and Erhai. The designers preserved a rustic charm using raw wood and stone, while maintaining modern minimalist elegance. The garden leans toward Japanese style, requiring meticulous daily care.

On the day of departure, I sat in the hanging basket on the room's balcony, waiting for someone, and dozed off in the breeze 💤. It struck me—someone like me, usually tense and overexerting, had truly relaxed this time.

I recalled my study trip to Japan years ago, when I carefully explored Hoshinoya Kyoto with admiration, though its price was beyond reach. Who would have thought that seven years later, I'd experience something equally magical in Yunnan, China? Times change quickly, and beautiful things will come in due course.
