Shandong's Little Switzerland: A Hidden Free Flower Viewing Spot

In Dalian, I encountered the most beautiful spring: peach blossoms blooming, cherry blossoms fluttering, forsythias swaying, magnolias in full bloom, and apricot blossoms in riotous profusion. Just as I thought I had seen it all, I stumbled upon the enchanting moss phlox!

Hearing the name 'moss phlox' for the first time, I was captivated by its beauty just from a friend's description. The flower language of moss phlox symbolizes hope, and my greatest wish now is for world peace and the end of disasters.

When moss phlox is in full bloom, it resembles cherry blossoms, earning it the nickname 'cherry blossom's twin.' This hidden gem is rarely visited; when we arrived, there were only a handful of people, as most tourists flock to the nearby Dalian Xijiao National Forest Park.

With seas of flowers stretching endlessly, wooden cabins scattered around, sunlight streaming down, and lush green grass, the scenery here surpasses even the landscapes of Switzerland. I recommend visiting before 5 PM, as the sunlight bathes the flower fields, creating a heavenly view! This spot is free to visit, so there's no need to head to Yinggeshi Botanical Garden or Bangchuidao. Take advantage of the May Day holiday and come check it out!
