If you go to Dalian, be sure to visit the Forest Zoo.

Dalian Forest Zoo is an ecological zoo that makes you feel like animals are naturally coexisting in the forest. It's closer to seeing animals resting or playing under the shade of trees than noisy crowds or stuffy cages. The entire site is a whopping 7km² or more,
and it's quite large and has hills, so you can feel like you're trekking a little. So I definitely recommend wearing sneakers.
