One of the most beautiful photos of Datong should be of the Datong Mosque, which is worth visiting twice, both during the day and at night.
Datong Mosque is one of the earliest Islamic temples in China. According to the temple inscription, it was first built in the second year of the Tang Zhenguan period (628), and the existing buildings date back to the Qing Dynasty. The mosque faces east and is arranged in two courtyards. Along the central axis are the mountain gate, Shengxin Tower, prayer hall, and other buildings. The prayer hall is the main building, with the original imperial edict from the Kangxi period inscribed above the door lintel.
There is a pond in front of the mosque, which creates a beautiful reflection at night. Additionally, the lighting on the back of the mosque at night is also very photogenic.
