Hey guys! Who knows! Moganshan is truly the "summer retreat paradise" for city dwellers! Bamboo forests, sea of clouds, homestays, coffee… Every step you take is a healing scenery. Quickly save this nanny-level guide, and you can rush there this weekend!
Address: Moganshan Town, Deqing County, Huzhou City
🚗 Transportation Guide:
For self-drivers, just navigate to "Moganshan Scenic Area." It takes 1.5 hours from Hangzhou and 2.5 hours from Shanghai. There is a parking lot at the entrance. The mountain roads have many curves, so beginners are advised to drive slowly~
For public transport users, first take the high-speed train to "Deqing Station," then transfer to the direct shuttle bus to the scenic area or take a taxi. Remember to confirm the pick-up service with your homestay in advance~
✨ Must-visit Attractions (with photo tips)
1. Jianchi Scenic Area
The "soul spot" of Moganshan! Waterfalls, ancient bridges, and cliff inscriptions full of ancient charm. It’s recommended to walk down from "Yinshan Street." The bamboo forest along the way is dense, and sunlight filtering through the bamboo leaves is super healing~ For photos, stand on the "Waterfall Viewing Bridge" to frame both the waterfall and the bamboo forest behind. Wearing a light-colored dress makes the photos even better!
2. Naked Stables Valley (Naked Heart Valley)
A trendy resort! Although it’s a paid area (entry allowed if staying at the hotel or booking an experience), the "Naked Heart" sign and lawn at the entrance are perfect for photos. The distant continuous mountain views make every shot look like an Instagram masterpiece~ If your budget allows, definitely try the "Naked Castle" afternoon tea (198 RMB/person). Sitting on the castle terrace overlooking the entire valley is breathtaking!
3. Moganshan Republic of China Style Street
Free to visit! Vintage villas, old post office, and coffee shops full of nostalgic vibes. Recommended to check in at "Moganshan Old Train Station," with red brick walls and wooden doors and windows. Wearing a qipao or Republic of China style outfit for photos instantly turns you into a movie heroine~ Don’t miss "Mountain and Coffee" on the street. Order a "Bamboo Scent Latte" (38 RMB), the cup sleeve features a Moganshan map, making it very memorable for photos!
4. Xuguang Terrace
The best spot to see the sea of clouds! It’s recommended to arrive before 6 AM. If lucky, you can see the beautiful "sea of clouds covering the mountains." When the sun rises, the clouds turn golden, and every photo looks like wallpaper material~ Use a wide-angle lens to capture the sea of clouds, mountain views, and distant villages together. Remember to wear non-slip shoes as the steps can be slippery with morning dew~
🍜 Must-try Food List
Deqing Local Cuisine: "Mountain People’s Home Local Restaurant" must order "Moganshan Bamboo Forest Chicken" (128 RMB/whole). It’s freshly killed and slow-cooked in a clay pot. The chicken is tender, and the soup carries a bamboo fragrance. Perfect with a bowl of rice~
Snacks to try:
✔️ Moganshan dried bamboo shoots (great for stewing meat at home)
✔️ Qingming rice cakes (savory dried bamboo shoot and meat filling is delicious, sweet red bean paste filling is also good)
✔️ Bamboo tube rice (glutinous rice wrapped with cured meat and bamboo shoots, steamed in bamboo tubes, with a bamboo aroma)
Afternoon Tea Recommendation: "Moganshan Cloud Top Coffee," order the "Mountain View Cake Set" (68 RMB). The cake is matcha-flavored and shaped like a small mountain. Sitting on the terrace eating while enjoying the view is super cozy~
❗️ Blogger’s Private Tips to Avoid Pitfalls
Wear comfortable sneakers! Moganshan has many mountain roads, and many attractions require walking. High heels are tiring and slippery~
Bring a light jacket! The temperature difference on the mountain is big in the morning and evening. Even in summer, it’s only about 20°C at night. The jacket can also be used as a photo prop~
Don’t buy "overpriced specialties" at the scenic area entrance! It’s recommended to go to the "Deqing Farmers’ Market" at the foot of the mountain. Dried bamboo shoots, tea leaves, and nuts are cheaper there, and you can bargain~
If driving up the mountain, remember to book in advance! There are many vehicles on holidays, and you need to reserve an entry quota through the "Moganshan Tourism" WeChat official account, or you will be stopped at the foot of the mountain~
Book experience projects in advance! Activities like "Naked Heart Valley horseback riding" and "paragliding" (380 RMB/person) require booking 3 days in advance during peak season, or you might not get a spot~
Guys! Moganshan is really perfect for a weekend escape from the city. Stay in the forest, listen to the rustling bamboo, eat authentic local dishes, it’s truly healing! Quickly invite your besties or significant other to experience the summer of Moganshan~💕
