Life in the mountains

Visited 南桥 (Nanqiao Bridge) in Dujiangyan and honestly, it’s beautiful both day and night, but wow, the transformation after sunset is next level.✨
📸 By day, the bridge shows off its classic Sichuan-style architecture, with intricate carvings and river reflections — peaceful, cultural, and photogenic.
🌌 But by night? It’s a whole different story. The bridge lights up in glowing gold, and the riverbank comes alive with the “蓝眼泪” (Blue Tears) — shimmering LED effects in the water that give the illusion of glowing plankton drifting under the bridge. It’s surreal and almost dreamlike. 🌊💙
Perfect for a leisurely stroll, photography, or just soaking in the calm, especially after a day exploring the nearby Dujiangyan irrigation system.
📍Location: Right at the heart of Dujiangyan Old Town, easy to walk from most hotels
📅 Best time to catch the “blue tears”: After 8pm on weekends or peak days
💡 Tip: Come before sunset to enjoy both views — and bring a tripod if you want long exposure night shots!
Note: Nanqiao Bridge is NOT a paid attraction, unlike the actual Dujiangyan Scenic Spot. So if you are pressed for time, visiting the Nanqiao Bridge and the free area is sufficient
