Is the hotel with the most family-friendly activities worth it? A genuine experience for young children

Here is a restatement in the same language but different words of the family vacation destination—Mount Emei.

Besides hiking, Mount Emei is also an excellent family vacation destination.

There are many hot spring hotels at the foot of the mountain, very suitable for traveling with kids. Before departure, I was torn between Le Méridien and Wulan, worried that Wulan’s facilities were outdated since it had been open for a long time. But in the end, because it is "the best family hotel in Sichuan," I chose Wulan.

So, what is the real stay experience like?

1. Location and Transportation: The hotel is located at the foot of Mount Emei, close to major attractions and the city center. Whether driving or taking a taxi, it is very convenient for outings or dining.
2. Environment and Facilities: The hotel is a 160-acre Southeast Asian-style garden resort with a lake, black and white swans, and a large, open lawn. It has various facilities such as a family playground, rock climbing, jungle crossing, a small train, and a family book bar. You can tell the hotel is well maintained overall, and the facilities don’t feel outdated.
3. Dining Experience: The hotel’s buffet breakfast is really rich, with both Western and Chinese options, plus local Leshan specialties like tofu pudding and egg cakes, perfect for kids. You can order food all day, and the taste is decent.
4. Stay Experience: We stayed in a family jungle room, which had a small tent and a terrace. Outside was a children’s playground and lawn, and you could ask the butler for a disposable bathtub liner. The resort is large, and you can call a shuttle car anytime. Although the room’s decoration style is more Chinese, many upgrades have been made later. Overall, the stay experience was very good.
5. Special Features: Wulan’s most distinctive feature is its family activities. During summer vacation, there are various family activities every day, including many water activities, which are really great for kids. The pool is large and clean, suitable for children to play in the water.

But note:

1. Family activities are only available on weekends outside the summer season, so plan your time in advance.
2. The hot springs and pool are outdoors, so pay attention to the weather.
3. There are few hot spring pools, and the water temperature is average, so the hot spring experience might be mediocre if that’s your main goal.

Overall, if you want to bring your kids to Mount Emei for a vacation and experience a “relaxed way to entertain kids,” Wulan is definitely a good choice. It truly deserves the title of the best family hotel in Sichuan.
