📍Eze Village (France)
A small village perched on a cliff is called an "eagle's nest village."
Many eagle's nest villages can be found in the Côte d'Azur (around Nice) in southern France.
They are accessible from Nice, a popular vacation destination from around the world, especially during the spring and summer months.
Eze Village is one of the most famous of these.
However, eagle's nest villages are often located high in the mountains,
making them difficult to access for tourists without a car.
Many people are reluctant to rent a car in an unfamiliar foreign country. Hiring a local guide to take you around by car is an option, but while it's easy and safe, it's extremely expensive.
You'd probably like to keep transportation costs down and spend your money on hotels and food.
In the case of Eze Village...it's accessible by yourself.
Basic information is here.
◾️Access (From Nice)
By bus only
Take bus number 82 from the Vauban bus stop and get off at Eze Village.
Transferring to the train
Get off at Gare de Eze sur mer
Take bus number 83 from the Gare Eze bus stop directly in front of the station and get off at Eze Village.
During the high season (April to July), there are many tourists, so you shouldn't get lost.
◾️Time
Eze is a small village. Excluding time spent at restaurants and cafes, you can explore it in about an hour. However, in the summer, there are many cute shops, such as souvenir and general stores, so it's recommended to spend at least three hours.
Even if you eat at the restaurants, it's still a half-day trip, making it a perfect day trip from Nice.
◾️Sights
・Tropical Botanical Garden
This is a must-see spot in Eze Village. If you go to the top, you'll be rewarded with a spectacular view of the Mediterranean Sea. Admission is 6 euros.
Chateau Eze Hotel & Restaurant
This five-star hotel is located in the village of Eze. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, you can still use the restaurant.
The view from the terrace is breathtaking. It's a little pricey, but it's well worth experiencing this unique view.
Eze Village is easily accessible even by yourself.
