Fenglin｜Authentic Vietnamese Snacks〔Muyue Restaurant〕

In Fenglin, Hualien, a discreet Vietnamese restaurant tucked away in an alleyway delighted me repeatedly. Muyue Bistro, while lacking in glamorous decor, captivates locals and travelers alike with its authentic hometown flavors.

The signature beef pho boasts a clear, fragrant broth, tender and flavorful beef, and a juicy lemon and basil accompaniment for a vibrant and layered flavor. The spicy and sour cold papaya salad is a perfect summer treat. The friendly hostess greeted me, and as she served me Vietnamese iced coffee and spring rolls, I felt like I was transported to a corner of a tropical town.
