🗻Enoshima Island is the best spot to catch a sunset with Fuji

I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Japan, yet somehow I had never seen Mount Fuji. It was always somewhere in the background of my travels, almost mythical — on postcards, in artworks, on souvenirs — but never in front of me.

That changed when I decided to spend a day exploring Enoshima Island in Kamakura. The island itself is a little gem: narrow winding paths, hidden shrines, ocean views, and that peaceful atmosphere that makes you slow down without even noticing. I wandered with no real plan, just enjoying the sea breeze and the charm of the place.

And then, as the afternoon shifted toward evening, I stumbled upon the most breathtaking spot. The sky was painted in shades of gold and pink, and there, rising in the distance, was Mount Fuji. Perfectly clear, perfectly framed, glowing softly in the sunset.

After all that time in Japan, I finally saw Fuji — and it felt like a gift for simply taking the time to wander.

And it was my last day in Japan❤️🩹
