This is a model itinerary for first-time visitors to Fukuoka for professional baseball games, concerts, and more (Tokyo → Fukuoka).
Day 1
Take a morning flight to Fukuoka ✈️
🍚For lunch, we went to Motsunabe Tashu near Hakata Station.
Motsunabe with sesame mackerel was 2,000 yen with change. 💰
If you have a suitcase, leave it at the hotel.
🧳I recommend staying within walking distance of Hakata Station.
Games and concerts are held at PayPay Dome from 6 PM, so we had some time before then, so we took a walk to Kushida Shrine. 🚶
In June, there were a few hydrangeas in bloom.
We returned to Hakata Station to look for souvenirs (we'll buy them on the second day!), then headed to PayPay Dome from the bus terminal just after 3 PM!
If you're coming to the PayPay Dome to watch a baseball game, I recommend the fried horse mackerel 🎶 They also offer a set with fried chicken, which is a great deal 🉐
After the game or concert, take the bus directly to Hakata Station (or, if you're feeling energetic, walk to Tojinmachi and take the train 🚶) and head back to Hakata Station for some Hakata tonkotsu ramen 🍜
I recommend the classic and classic Shinshin!
Day 2
Start your morning with Maki no Udon at the Hakata Station Bus Terminal!
There's often a line, but the turnover is fast, so don't give up! 🙆 Also try Hakata's famous burdock tempura!
Continue to Dazaifu (by train or bus 🚌🚍)
Dazaifu has so much to see, even along the approach to the shrine!
There's a beautiful Starbucks, a cute retro coffee shop, and the Umegae Mochi is a must-try 🤤💖 Freshly baked is in a class of its own!
After praying, we took the bus to Hakata Station. 🚌🚌
Once back at Hakata Station, it was time to buy souvenirs. 🛍️🛍️
After buying souvenirs and packing our bags, we headed to the airport!
The airport also has a lot of limited-edition gourmet food, so we made sure to leave plenty of time! The mentaiko potato quiche was a perfect match with the beer in the lounge. 🤩🤩
I don't drink much, so I didn't go to Nakasu. ⚠️
