[Armenia] Garni Gorge, nicknamed the "Symphony of Stone"

#TravelTips

Garni Gorge lies approximately 27km east of Armenia's capital, Yerevan.

The Gorge, along with the 1st-century historical building, Garni Temple, standing on a hilltop, is registered as a World Heritage Site in Armenia.

The 50m-high cliffs, formed by the cooling and solidification of ancient magma, are made up of columnar joints of hexagonal basalt. The sheer beauty is truly awe-inspiring.

The gorge has beautifully maintained walking trails, and visitors can enjoy cart and horse riding (fees apply).

The gorge features a beautiful stream, and hiking is also available.

By the way, this is one of the few tourist attractions in Armenia that charges an entrance fee.
